Physician - Trauma Surgeon

General Surgeon Opportunity In Fargo, North Dakota

Sanford Health is looking for a board-eligible/board-certified general surgeon fellowship trained in surgical critical care with extensive experience in trauma to join their emergency general surgery, trauma, and surgical critical care team in Fargo, North Dakota.

This position covers the surgical critical care service, emergency general surgery, and trauma surgery service. The team consists of ten surgeons and six nurse practitioners. The region's only level 1 adult trauma center, level 2 pediatric trauma center, and joint commission accredited comprehensive stroke center are part of this opportunity. The trauma volume is 2700/year with 95% blunt trauma. High volume complex emergency general surgery is also part of this role.

Obtain an academic appointment through the University of North Dakota medical school. Teaching of medical students and surgical residents and research opportunities are available. Critical care fellowship beginning 2026.
