About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in CVICU required License: Nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Patient ratio experience of 1:2 - Charting system experience preferred Description: The position involves three 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage every other weekend. Education requirement includes an Associate degree in Nursing. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. The nursing responsibilities include managing arterial lines, assisting with chest tube insertion and removal, and blood product administration. Care for patients on ECMO and ventilated patients is essential. Central line care and management, as well as central venous pressure monitoring, are key tasks. The role includes management of patients with chronic or acute renal failure and continuous IV sedation. Candidates will care for patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting and valve repair. Knowledge of infection prevention and interpretation of arterial blood gases is necessary. The nursing role may require the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of various cardiac conditions. Involvement in phlebotomy and PICC line management is expected. Experience with advancements in technology such as ventricular assist devices is advantageous. The patient population includes adults with complex cardiovascular conditions.
