This dynamic position provides professional and exceptional care through safe and timely transport of patients, supplies, oxygen, beds and equipment throughout the MultiCare facility. As a Transporter at MultiCare, you will collaborate with the entire nursing staff, hone your decision-making capacities, and enjoy daily variety and problem-solving opportunities.ResponsibilitiesYou will provide safe and timely transport of patients, beds, oxygen, supplies, and equipment throughout the facilityAssist clinical personnel in transferring patients to and/or from beds or chairs to and/or from wheelchair or stretcherYou will respond to STAR codes by transporting patient lift equipment and assisting nursing staff, as neededYou will provide assistance to units by cleaning equipment and stocking suppliesPartner with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and solid decision-making capacitiesYou will effectively prioritize and apply organization and flexibility to your work dutiesRequirementsHigh school graduate or equivalent preferredCurrent BLS CertificationSuccessful completion of in-house training program on patient lift and mobility within 6 months of placement in jobOne (1) year of previous transport or related healthcare experience preferredMay require certifications based on hospital needsAbout Good Samaritan HospitalMultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hub serving Puyallup and East Pierce County. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.27 - $32.36 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
