Job Description: The Raquel Carter for Lexington Mayor campaign is seeking a full-time Field Director who will oversee all aspects of a highly-targeted and sophisticated field program to beat a two-term Republican incumbent. If successful, Raquel Carter will be the first directly elected African-American mayor of Lexington, Kentucky.

While this election is officially non-partisan, this will be a true Red to Blue race in a year when all eyes will be on Kentucky.

The field director will be responsible for creating a field plan by working directly with the campaign's data director and digital and mail teams to assess timeframes and resources in order to get the candidate through a crowded primary in May. They will also be responsible for growing and maintaining a robust volunteer-powered direct voter contact program.

In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the field director will recommend and implement technology to help the campaign get to its win number, this means texting platforms and platforms like Mobilize. They will also manage the VAN.

A qualified candidate for this role will be proficient in VAN, understand and appreciate the role that clean and targeted data plays in races like this, and be willing to tap into a very motivated youth vote bloc in Lexington.

At least three full cycles of a campaign are required, with previous field director experience encouraged. Having worked on a prior mayoral or municipal election is helpful but not required. Being local is an advantage but not required; supporter housing will be provided. A qualified candidate will be a fully licensed driver and have access to a vehicle.

While the priority is to get the candidate through May's primary, a successful field director with a record of overperformance in the primary will be asked to stay through the general.
