Payroll Manager

Salary: $110,000-$130,000 (Based on Experience) Position Overview A growing multi-location transportation organization is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations and ensure the accurate, timely processing of employee payroll. This individual will play a key role in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while partnering closely with HR, Finance, and Operations to support payroll reporting, reconciliations, and process improvements. Key Responsibilities Manage the full-cycle payroll process for a multi-location workforce. Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule while maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. Oversee payroll reconciliations, reporting, audits, and financial analysis. Partner with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll-related questions and discrepancies. Maintain payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee information. Utilize Microsoft Excel to prepare reports, analyze payroll data, and reconcile payroll information. Support month-end and year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting and compliance. Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, increase efficiency, and implement best practices. Assist with payroll-related projects and other departmental initiatives as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of payroll management or payroll administration experience. Experience processing payroll for multi-location organizations required. Union payroll experience is strongly preferred. Strong working knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis. Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
