Preservation Architect

As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings and structures. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and preservation specialists to ensure that the integrity and historical significance of these structures are maintained. Your main duties will include conducting site assessments, creating preservation plans, obtaining necessary permits, and overseeing the restoration process. To excel in this role you must have a strong understanding of architectural history and preservation techniques and possess excellent communication and project management skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. A degree in architecture or a related field is required, along with relevant experience in historic preservation projects. Responsibilities Conduct site assessments to evaluate the condition of historic buildings and structures Create preservation plans that take into account the historical significance of each structure Obtain necessary permits from local authorities for restoration work Collaborate with clients, contractors, and preservation specialists to ensure that restoration work adheres to preservation standards Oversee the restoration process to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to timelines Document all restoration work for future reference Stay updated on new techniques and materials used in historic preservation Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or a related field Minimum of 3 years experience in historic preservation projects Strong understanding of architectural history and preservation techniques Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders Project management experience preferred Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to obtain necessary permits from local authorities #J-18808-Ljbffr
