NOW HIRING: UPK LEAD TEACHERS & ASSISTANT TEACHERS

Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) | Community-Based Organization (CBO) Daycare

Are you passionate about early childhood education and helping children build a strong foundation for lifelong learning? We are seeking caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic professionals to join our UPK team!

Position 1: UPK Lead Teacher

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement age-appropriate, engaging learning activities for preschool-aged children.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with families and colleagues.
• Follow program curriculum, documentation, and classroom requirements.

Qualifications

• NYS teaching certification in an applicable area of early childhood or childhood education, or a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, as applicable to CBO UPK staffing requirements.
• Candidates with other educational backgrounds may be considered subject to applicable NYS childcare regulations, UPK staffing requirements, and school district approval.
• Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet applicable background-check and childcare licensing requirements.

Position 2: UPK Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and lesson implementation.
• Support children's learning, play, and social-emotional development.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
• Supervise children and assist with daily routines.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and program staff.

Qualifications

• Education and experience appropriate to the position under applicable NYS childcare regulations.
• Previous experience working with young children preferred.
• Teaching or Teaching Assistant certification is an asset where applicable but is not required for every CBO assistant position.
• Dependability, patience, teamwork, and a genuine interest in early childhood education.
• Ability to meet applicable background-check and childcare licensing requirements.
