LPN Profession: LVN / LPN Specialty: Medical SurgicalThe role involves working in a medical surgical unit. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. This is a complex care unit for medical, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients. Floating to other units may be required based on skillset. The position includes responsibilities such as blood product administration and IV management. Other clinical skills include telemetry monitoring, wound care, and trach management. Candidates should have experience with high flow nasal cannula and oxygen administration. The environment supports interdisciplinary collaboration with teams such as physical therapy and respiratory services. Diverse patient diagnoses include COPD exacerbations and infections. Candidates must communicate patient status changes effectively. The use of rapid response and code teams is part of the role. Isolation precautions should be adhered to. This position offers an opportunity to work in an acute care setting with diverse patient populations.
