Employee performs both school-based and district-level work to carry out Board of Education policies under the direction of the Head Custodian. NC 06 Hourly Non-Certified Schedule /Full-time, 12 months Reports To Head Custodian Place of Work The normal place of work is on the premises used by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reserves the right to require you to work at such other place(s) as it may reasonably require from time to time. Essential Functions Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures Maintain cleanliness both inside and outside the facility through the execution of established procedures Inspect school grounds daily to remove debris and other items that could become a safety hazard or detract from the general appearance of the school Clean classrooms, including but not limited to, removing trash, dusting furniture and equipment, sweeping and mopping the floors, and polishing metal fixtures Clean and sanitize restrooms, including but not limited to, fixtures, sinks, urinals, toilets, showers; replenish supplies in restrooms Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets Clean all staff and special purpose areas, including but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture, woodwork, fixtures and equipment Maintain cleanliness of windows, mirrors, walls, desks, and tables/countertops Follow developed work schedules for scrubbing, stripping, waxing, and buffing floors Follow developed work schedules for extracting, spot cleaning, and vacuuming carpeted areas Perform light maintenance by replacing light bulbs and air filters, clean air vents, and adjusted blinds/shades as requested Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles; pick up papers and other debris Assist in receiving, storing, and distributing supplies and equipment as needed.
