Structural Engineer

ASAP is hiring on behalf of our client for a Structural Engineer to join an engineering team supporting commercial building and facility projects for a major automotive organization. Job Title Structural Engineer Location Dearborn, MI Schedule Hybrid (4+ days onsite each week) NO C2C INQUIRIES! Local candidates only. Applicants must currently reside within commuting distance of Dearborn, MI. Relocation assistance is not available. Position Summary We are seeking a Structural Engineer to support commercial, non-manufacturing building projects within a large industrial campus environment. This position will focus on reviewing structural drawings, evaluating existing building modifications, collaborating with Engineers of Record, and independently reviewing engineering plans throughout the design and construction process. This is an excellent opportunity to support a well-established engineering team on long-term facility and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Review structural drawings for commercial, non-manufacturing building projects. Review requests for modifications and improvements to existing buildings. Consult with Engineers of Record throughout all phases of design and construction, including scope development and feasibility. Review structural steel fabrication shop drawings. Review structural steel erection shop drawings. Review foundation shop drawings. Review projects involving deep foundation systems. Independently review engineering plans and provide technical input. Travel occasionally to project sites, vendor locations, and stakeholder meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Experience as a Structural Engineer supporting building or facility projects. Experience reviewing structural drawings and engineering plans. Experience reviewing structural steel fabrication and erection shop drawings. Experience reviewing foundation shop drawings. Experience working with deep foundation systems. Ability to independently review engineering plans. Experience collaborating with Engineers of Record throughout design and construction. Strong communication and organizational skills.
