Apply now and let's create the perfect pear together!Specific Accountabilities:Build department sales by answering questions and assisting guests with purchasesMake recommendations to guests on types of cuts, methods of preparation and meal suggestionsDetermine cutting needs based on guest demandsCustom cut meat products according to guest requestsCut and process all fresh meat products according to quality specificationsReceive, verify and store department deliveriesPackage and price productRotate and cull product to ensure freshnessScan waste to ensure accurate shrink recordingGrind meats following prescribed proceduresPromote various products by preparing and offering samplesSet and maintain service and self-service casesClean and sanitize department, equipment, work areas, service areas, containers and utensilsFollow safe food handling and personal hygiene practicesFollow safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout of equipmentEnsure all product, ready to heat items and special orders are prepared to specificationsAdhere to all Busch's policies, practices and proceduresBuild strong working relationships with guests, vendors and associatesExemplify key concepts of hospitality when interacting with guestsRequirements:High school diplomaMinimum 3 years' experience in the Meat/Seafood DepartmentCutting experience preferred.Knowledge of various cuts of beef, pork, veal, lamb and poultryKnowledge of preparation of various cuts and types of meats and poultryFood safety certification preferred.Proficient communication and interpersonal skills, including written, verbal and listening skillsProficient selling skills, including the ability to ask questions, listen and make product recommendationsProficient merchandising skills to ensure fresh and appealing service and self-service displaysProficient cleaning abilities to meet sanitation and visual standardsBusch's is a family owned premier grocery retailer with multiple stores in Southeast Michigan.
