About the Position

Job Title: Cath Lab Tech Profession: Radiology / Cardiology Specialty: Cath Lab Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Must be in hand prior to start date. Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, ARRT Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred. - Charting system experience preferred. - Must work a minimum of 2 days a week on call and every 3rd weekend. Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First timers are not accepted. Conscious sedation experience is required. The following equipment experience is required: Acist injector, Siemens C-arm, Philips C-arm, Medrad power injector, Rotopro, Diamondback, IVUS, OCT, Shock wave, Rampart, Pneumbra, Inari. Skills include the ability to circulate, monitor accurately, perform angiography of the genitourinary system, angioplasty, and aortography. Experience in cardiac procedures such as left heart catheterization (LHC), right heart catheterization (RHC), balloon pumps, temporary pacemakers, permanent pacemakers/defibrillators, and handling pericardial effusion is necessary. Interventional radiology skills should include venous access, drain placements, GI tube insertion, pulmonary embolism (PE), deep vein thromboses (DVT), TIPS, port vascular access, fistula work, uterine fibroid embolization (UFE), and managing internal bleeding scenarios. Candidate must possess skills in hemodynamic monitoring, IABP placement/removal, central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines), and chest tube placement among others. Recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias and maintenance of a sterile field while scrubbing procedures are vital. Ability to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required. Compliance with specific certification requirements based on unit description is essential.
