Job Title RN – Labor and Delivery, Night Shift Department Overview Labor and Delivery: 30 labor beds OB ED: 9 beds total OB ORs: 4 operating rooms Births: Approximately 550-600 per month Deliveries: Starting from 22-23 weeks gestation NICU: Level 4 with 77 beds Teams: MFM team, Midwifery, OB, Family Medicine Programs: Addiction Recovery, postpartum couplets, Doula, Cultural Navigators 24/7 Services: Anesthesia, Laborist, Neonatology 5 EAST Main L&D Unit: 6 bed OB ED, 14 labor rooms, 2 ORs, Charge RN, Laborist 5 South: Scheduled C-sections, overflow labor, etc. Responsibilities Accountable for ensuring 24‑hour patient care and coordinating delivery of care with the healthcare team. Establish and enforce standards of patient care and nursing practice; develop unit‑based quality improvement programs. Ensure compliance with department standards and reinforce positive outcomes; take corrective action for identified problems. Conduct rounds and intervene to ensure appropriate patient care and satisfaction. Serve as patient advocate, clarifying ethical and legal issues and supporting cultural practices. Track staff turnover and take steps to reduce it. Maintain clinical competence by assisting with patient care and coaching staff. Collaborate with clinical nurse specialists/educators to plan and implement educational programs for all staff levels. Respond to grievances up to step‑two. Required Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Washington Registered Nurse License on hire. National Provider BLS and NRP certifications on hire. At least one year of Labor and Delivery Nursing experience.
