We are looking for a Barista to join our team that thrives on bringing health and pleasure to our customers through meals made with love.

Job Description

Our Baristas are critical to creating the warm, inviting environment at The Cottage. The Baristas are responsible for performing all coffee and pastry bar related activities while maintaining a safe and clean working environment. This role reports to the Front of House Manager.

Responsibilities 

• Set up and maintain customer-facing coffee and bakery stations, including polishing mugs and wine glasses, stocking bakery and sandwich displays, and brewing drip coffee.
• Make speciality beverages while adhering to recipes and beverage ratios.
• Provide incredible customer service through proficient product knowledge and brand awareness.
• Ensure compliant checkout operations (i.e. ID verification for alcohol sales).
• Manage customer orders on handheld POS system.
• Crosstrain as FOH associate to manage POS and customer checkouts.
• Clean and organize the register, coffee station, and bakery case at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

• Strong communication for interacting with customers, attention to detail for handling transactions accurately, and friendliness to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift or carry heavy items.
• Must be comfortable using computers and electronic scanners for processing payments and managing inventory.
• Valid TABC and Texas Food Handlers certification is required.
• Previous experience as a barista is a plus.
