Shift Supervisor
This position directs the ongoing operational shift activities of the power plant and is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of individual units in compliance with all environmental regulations. Essential functions include administering and monitoring equipment safety lockout/tagout system, promoting accident prevention and safety awareness, supervising the duties of operating and fuel handling personnel, monitoring and evaluating maintenance activities, directing activities of the station Fire Brigade, performing administrative duties for operations and fuel handling, leading troubleshooting of equipment problems, performing housekeeping assessments, ordering consumable materials, directing all station operations at the plant during off-shift periods, generating repair tickets, providing direct supervision of union represented employees, communicating with other departments on unit status, and more.
Qualification guidelines include a minimum high school education or equivalent, basic computer knowledge, and 5 or more years of work experience in a power plant or related industrial setting. Preferred qualifications include a 2 year Associate Engineering degree or applicable military service, previous supervisory experience, and experience with station systems and equipment.
Physical requirements include moderate physical activity regularly required including walking, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling through equipment, bending, and entering confined spaces. The base salary range for this position is $118,240 - $177,360. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition the position may be eligible to participate in the benefits program which include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending accounts.
