Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with a proven background delivering large-scale data platforms within Capital One or similar financial enterprise environments . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Snowflake, Python, Spark, CICD pipelines, DataOps , and a strong understanding of credit, lending, and regulatory use cases .

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and ingestion frameworks across cloud environments.
Work closely with business, analytics, and platform teams to translate Capital One-specific requirements into data solutions.
Support data modeling, data quality, metadata management, and lineage tracking across multiple domains (credit, payments, risk, fraud).
Develop and productionize Spark/Python applications for high-volume data processing.
Implement CICD automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, pipeline orchestration, and monitoring using enterprise DevOps tools.
Ensure adherence to data governance, security, compliance, and regulatory standards following Capital One frameworks.
Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize Snowflake, Redshift, or similar data warehouse ecosystems .
Collaborate with distributed engineering teams using Agile/Scrum delivery models .

Required Skills

10-12+ years of Data Engineering experience (at least 1 years working on Capital One projects preferred)
Strong expertise in:
- Python, SQL, Spark (PySpark preferred)
- AWS services (S3, EMR, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, ECS, CloudWatch, Step Functions)
- Snowflake or Redshift data warehousing
Experience with Kafka / Kinesis / event-driven streaming systems
Hands-on implementing CI/CD using Jenkins / GitHub / Bitbucket / Terraform
Knowledge of data quality frameworks, governance, role-based security, tokenization, encryption
