Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations and brief counseling using different modalities such as CBT or DBT. This position includes a 5% weekend differential, if hired to cover weekends.

Responsibilities

Triages and conducts intakes, assessments on patients admitted to the Tulare County Jails, custody, and/or medical staff. Licensed therapist then makes appropriate recommendations to the healthcare unit and custody staff regarding the direction or required level of care

· Have experience writing 5150’s for persons being discharged from county jail or severe injury due to self-harm.

. Work with custody when requested with patients housing and help custody to understand how to work with difficult patients.

· Identifies and conducts other essential treatment services such as, psychoeducational groups, art therapy, pre-release counseling and other transitional groups, when appropriate or when applicable

· Assesses for Suicide Ideation and provide suicide intervention and management of suicidal and high-risk patients served by using clinical skills, conflict resolution and crisis intervention.

· Responds to sick calls to assess treatment needs of patients that request or desire mental health services within the correctional facility setting.

· Refer patients who have been assessed and identified as appropriate for psychiatric evaluation.

. Complete appropriate SOAP-E documentation in our EHR within 48 hrs.

. Meet required productivity each week.

. Appropriately interact with Custody, County Mental Health and other outside providers.

Experience:

One years of experience providing treatment to adults with various mental health disabilities required

Experience with Crisis/Risk Management

Advanced knowledge of assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, discharge planning and excellent documentation skills

Licenses/Certifications:

Current (and must maintain) unrestricted ACSW/AMFT/APCC license in state of practice

Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHA
