Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, supporting trauma, stroke, and pediatric emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a Level II trauma and comprehensive stroke center.
• Assess patient conditions swiftly, prioritize treatments, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Administer medications, perform procedures, and operate advanced medical equipment including GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
• Document patient information accurately within the Cerner system, maintaining compliance with hospital policies.
• Educate and communicate effectively with patients and families using AIDET principles, ensuring respectful and compassionate interactions.
• Adhere to hospital protocols, maintain certifications, and participate in ongoing staff development and team collaboration.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with a minimum of 2 years' clinical experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in trauma, stroke, and high-volume emergency care environments.
• Possess current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS certifications, and obtain ENPC within 90 days if not already held.
• Exhibit strong teamwork, coaching, and real-time feedback skills, with flexibility to work across all ED sections.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a culturally diverse environment serving over 120 languages.
