RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

The competent Registered Nurse in Critical Care practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. Provides routine and complex care while developing the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage clinical situations effectively. Responsibilities Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Bachelor's of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred. One year of experience in a related nursing specialty is preferred, but new graduates will be considered. Current BLS certification required (AHA only). Current ACLS certification required (AHA only). RN License in the state of Texas or compact. Schedule This position operates on a 5-day, 8-hour schedule, with a shift from 07:00 to 15:30. Additionally, candidates must be available for on‑call duty, including STEMI calls 16‑20 days out of 6 weeks and on‑call availability for 3 weekends out of 6.
