Details Acute care Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department setting 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds, plus 6 trauma bays not staffed by travelers 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio Cerner EMR used for charting 12-hour night shift schedule, 36 hours per week 4 weekend shifts required per month at unit discretion Holiday coverage required based on unit needs Floating required among 4 facilities in the health system including sister campuses and freestanding EDs, approximately 30 minutes apart, with potential for mid-shift floats Uses Phillips telemetry monitors and requires ability to read strips Ventilator management handled by Respiratory Therapy RT and pharmacy services available 24/7 with a pharmacist in the ED 10 hours per day Unit supported by 2 charge RNs and 4 PCTs for patient sitting High-volume ED seeing approximately 88,000 patients per year (250-300 per day) Common patient types include trauma, burns, pediatric transfers, and psych holds (30-40 per period) Unit holds CP Center and Spinal Cord/TBI certification Requirements Active AZ state or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (ENPC not accepted in place of PALS) TNCC and ATCN certifications preferred Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required At least 6 months of Level 1 trauma experience required BSN not required for this position Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting an offer, with up to 2 attempts allowed Must pass a Day 1 sterile technique exam covering Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings Men must be clean shaven to accommodate respirator fit testing Navy scrub color required Additional Information Provide emergency nursing care across a high-volume trauma population including trauma, burn, and psychiatric hold patients Complete a floor-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts before starting independent patient care Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, verified by driver's license address Must have personal vehicle for travel between float sites Candidates who were directly employed by CommonSpirit facilities within the past year are not eligible Failing the Relias or sterile technique exam twice results in a 6-month do-not-use status across CommonSpirit AZ and Sacramento regions American Traveler Job ID P-741750.
