Homeless Student Liaison

Reports to: Full-time: Yes

Salary: $2000 Stipend Workdays: 203 days

Funding Source: Title I

POSITION SUMMARY

The Homeless Liaison serves as a crucial link between homeless students and the resources they need to be successful in their academic setting. This role involves direct interaction with homeless students and families coordination with the McKinney-Vento District Homeless Liaison collaboration with community partners and advocacy within the community to address homelessness effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Current employment in ACSD #1

• Flexibility in daily schedule to allow for work with the McKinney-Vento District Liason homeless students and families

• Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check

• Valid Drivers License

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Collaborate with designated district schools to identify and support homeless students.

• Advocate on behalf of students and families to ensure full access to educational services and community resources.

• Maintain detailed records and information of student and family

• interactions.

• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support plans in

• collaboration with designated schools and adjust strategies as necessary.

• Regularly report to the McKinney-Vento District Homeless Liaison.

• Participate in annual state trainings

• Provide training and support to other ACSD #1 staff as needed

• Attend monthly collaborative meetings with other Homeless

• Liaisons District Leadership and the McKinney-Vento Homeless District Liaison.
