Assembly Technician & Inventory Specialist

Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Assembly Technician & Inventory Specialist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the daily assembly and quality checking of our wireless sensors, ensuring that outgoing orders are completed accurately and on time. You will also play a key role in maintaining organized inventory and supporting smooth day-to-day operations. This is a 5 day per week, in-office position in our Austin office. Key Responsibilities: Assembly & Production Perform soldering, cable assembly, and hands-on assembly of wireless sensors and gateways as needed Follow established assembly procedures and safety protocols Develop standard operating procedures for production and assembly of new and updated products Perform final quality assurance inspection of hardware products Inventory Management Monitor and maintain accurate stock levels of components, raw materials, and finished goods Receive and organize incoming shipments; verify quantities and condition; perform quality control tests before stocking hardware Flag low-stock items and coordinate with management to initiate reorders Keep the workspace and storage areas clean, labeled, and well-organized Prepare daily outgoing orders for shipment, including packaging and labeling Coordinate with shipping carriers to ensure timely dispatch Maintain accurate records of outbound shipments Order and maintain materials needed for order processing and shipping (boxes, packing tape, etc.) Proactively identify, document, and report process improvement opportunities encountered during daily logistics operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy Qualifications: Prior experience with soldering and/or electronics assembly; IPC-certified a plus Familiarity with inventory management practices and tools; experience with Fishbowl and/or QuickBooks Online a plus Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet daily targets Good organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving Comfortable working in a small team or startup environment Skilled with spreadsheets and other standard software applications Education & Experience Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification in Electronic Engineering or Technology 3+ years of experience in electronics assembly, soldering, and instrumentation Why work for Swift Sensors?
