Pediatric Urgent Care Physician - Clinical Practice & APP Supervision

Summary PM Pediatric Care is the largest pediatric urgent‑care network in the country, founded and led by pediatric emergency physicians. The practice offers a comprehensive, evidence‑based model that combines emergency‑department‑like services—x‑ray, laboratory, specialty consults—with a private‑practice atmosphere. A flexible schedule (12–36 hours per week, PT/FT) and no overnight shifts support a work/life balance. Description PM Pediatric Care is expanding its team of over 70 PE/PEM providers. Physicians support the Regional Medical Officer and are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating pediatric and young‑adult urgent‑care patients in both in‑person and tele‑medicine settings. Job Responsibilities Assess and treat acute injury and illness for in‑person and telemedicine patients, including febrile infants, ENT infections, abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, procedural anxiolysis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma. Perform procedural care such as abscess drainage, foreign‑body removal, and laceration repair with sutures, staples, or dermal adhesive. Obtain and preliminarily interpret radiographs with official radiology over‑reads in applicable states; all requisite training will be provided. Oversee patient flow, daily office functions, and the supervision of other providers, staff, and trainees on shift. Maintain operations by following policies, reporting changes, and ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards. Coordinate with onsite and tele‑medicine teams to complete daily tasks—lab/radiology review, follow‑up, and timely responses to patient inquiries—and enforce safety procedures and quality standards. Protect patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Continuously update knowledge through internal training, continuing education, professional publications, and organization participation. Assist the clinical team and patients with complaints and participate in service recovery when needed. Evaluate efficiency metrics related to urgent‑care flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience. Supervise Advanced Practice Providers in accordance with state and organizational guidelines. Maintain an active NPI number for site‑level credentialing and operational requirements. Serve as or support the designated Lab Director for assigned locations, ensuring regulatory and clinical compliance. Qualifications Ability to think critically, multitask, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent computer skills; experience with EMR (eCW preferred).
