Quality inspector

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure all painted and plated metal components comply with strict customer specifications and industry standards. In this role, you will perform visual inspections and utilize mechanical, chemical, and electrical testing methods to identify defects such as uneven coatings, scratches, or non-conforming finishes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in electroplating and inspection activities, including hands-on experience with receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with inspection tools and non-contact measurement instruments, including Eddy Current testing.
• Quality Knowledge: Clear understanding of First Article, Incoming, In-Process, and Final Inspection procedures alongside familiarity with the AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Computer Skills: strong computer proficiency for data entry, documentation, reporting, and tracking inspection results.

Responsibilities

• Visual & Physical Inspection: Perform visual inspections of parts featuring various plated and painted finishes.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and painting specifications.
• Coating & Lot Testing: Conduct coating thickness testing using Eddy Current equipment, alongside required lot testing such as adhesion, chemical, and destructive tests.
• Sample Preparation: Prepare test samples for inspection and testing procedures.
• Specification Comparison: Compare inspection and test results against established engineering specifications.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials, ensuring proper disposition and routing for rework.
• Documentation & Systems: Complete and maintain accurate inspection records utilizing computer systems for data entry and reporting.
