Answers telephone and communicates messages to the appropriate person. Greets patients, with positive attitude. Make patient appointments when necessary. Update demographic and insurance information on patients at check-in. Collects payments and outstanding balances. Notify Nurse/Provider upon patient arrival. Assist in whatever administrative and clerical back up is needed which may include faxing, processing mail, photocopying, data entry, filing and telephoning. Assist with scanning of medical records. Follows HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality and maintains security of Protected Health Information (PHI). Does not exhibit, divulge, copy or remove the contents of any record or report except to fulfill work assignments.
