Registered Nurse (RN)Night shift 1900-0700, 36 hours per weekPosition OverviewThis position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a Labor and Delivery/Birthing Center. The role includes caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and post-operative obstetric patients, particularly those who are high-risk and high-acuity. You will be responsible for critical assessments, monitoring maternal and fetal status, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Minimum QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) licensureMinimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferredCesarean section circulator experience preferredPost Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery experience preferredOB Emergency Department (OBED) experience preferred but not requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredCurrent Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification requiredCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification requiredIntermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification requiredSTABLE certification preferred but not requiredDemonstrated ability to provide safe, evidence-based care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environmentKey ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and post-operative obstetric patientsCare for high-risk and high-acuity maternal patients at 32 weeks gestation and aboveFunction as a cesarean section circulator and provide post-anesthesia recovery care as appropriateAssess, monitor, and respond to changes in maternal and fetal status utilizing critical thinking and evidence-based practiceInterpret fetal heart rate patterns and intervene appropriately to promote maternal and fetal well-beingCollaborate with physicians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomesSupport emergency obstetrical interventions and participate in rapid response situationsProvide patient and family education while promoting a positive birth experienceAdhere to professional, regulatory, and organizational standards of nursing practiceWeekend and Holiday CoverageRequires availability for up to 2 weekends per 6 weeks (may vary) and holidays as needed.
