Grow with us, H2O+U.Your OpportunityWe’re looking for a Senior Project Manager / Technical Lead experienced in Conveyance who’s passionate about shaping water infrastructure and making a real impact within the community. In this role, you’ll lead the planning, design and delivery of urban storm drain, combined and sanitary sewer, and drinking water conveyance projects principally for municipal clients across New England, working alongside a diverse group of technical experts to deliver meaningful solutions for our broader clients and communities. Conveyance includes large pipelines, pump/booster pump stations, linear storage systems, urban flood reduction, outfalls, green stormwater infrastructure, sewer separation, condition assessment and trenchless installation/rehabilitation.Joining Stantec’s global network of over 600 conveyance engineers, with a reputation as the go-to firm in New England, you will be given the opportunity to grow your career by leading iconic water conveyance projects from first request through construction: shaping our established and talented local team and our North American Conveyance Sector. As a technical mentor you will be expected to be in the office, on average, three days a week.Your Key ResponsibilitiesManage a team of design professionals and techniciansMentor and supervise staff and develop high-performing project teamsPerform business development/application tasks and collaborate with staff to increase project wins and develop long-lasting client relationships.Routine tasks include: participate in business line teams to manage and develop proposals; client facing for business development contact, meetings, walk-downs, and presentations; scope of work documents and estimates; collaboration with multiple business lines to develop opportunities; and quality reviewsAssist senior engineers/designers with developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned projects through collaboration with a wide range of technical disciplines.Routine technical tasks include engineering calculations (including pressure and open channel flow hydraulics); spatial analysis of utility layouts and trench conditions; equipment sizing and selection for active and passive controls; preparation of engineering drawings such as civil site plans, utility profiles, hydraulic structure layouts, and piping assemblies; engineering reports; feasibility studies; presentations to clients, regulatory agencies, and/or project stakeholdersAssist with management of design and construction of projects.Establish goals and objectives for unique and complex projects.Successfully implement project plans to achieve budget, schedule, and contractual obligations.Conduct and/or coordinate quality assurance and quality control on assigned projects and facilitate independent technical review by others.Involved in the permitting process of projects, which may require meeting with clients, contractors, interested stakeholder parties, and reviewing agency personnel. You coordinate with the regulatory review to seek final approval.Deliver and make decisions on projects of varying complexity within multidisciplinary teams.Research and understand issues related to regulatory and other drivers that impact individual projectsAssist business leaders in project revenue forecasting.Oversee proposals, including development of the scope and level of effort of comparable size.Undertake decisions and recommendations governed by general policy and project management governance.Supervise local staff and provide mentoring and coaching for future leaders, including development of succession plans for key positionsYour Capabilities and CredentialsInspire project teams to higher levels of achievement.Consistently engage employees in discussions on job satisfaction and engagement and provide ongoing recognition and feedback to employees and teams.Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines including stress/structural, instrumentation & controls, and electrical.Understanding of local and regional jurisdictional codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.Strong ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings.Understanding of construction methods, such as open-cut and trenchless (microtunneling, jack and bore, etc.) for sewer and water infrastructure, is considered an asset.Understanding of water and storm and sanitary sewer rehabilitation, is considered an asset.Demonstrates strong understanding of conveyance system construction elements as it relates to design in order to select construction methods and defining work area limits.Experience and expertise with the design of conveyance projects in urbanized, congested areas.Experience with the design of water, sewer, and drainage infrastructure 24-inches in diameter and larger.Education and ExperienceEducation: Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering in environmental, civil engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. Minimum 15 years of project management experience in a consulting environment, with a focus on conveyance and water infrastructure design.Licensure: Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain license within 6 months.Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.Demonstrated successful experience in leadership, including defining and setting the direction for a team, project, and office; strategy development; change management; and corporate stewardship.Travel to other offices as well as to project sites may be required.Stantec is a place where the best and brightest come to build on each other's talents, do exciting work, and make an impact on the world around us. Pay Range:• Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$128,600.00 - $192,900.00 Annually• Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & Various CA, NJ, VA Areas-$141,500.00 - $212,200.00 Annually• Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas-$151,700.00 - $227,600.00 AnnuallyPay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
