PRODUCE/CLERK

We are looking for a Produce Clerk to create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintain a safe and clean environment, and support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. Responsibilities Role model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate our customers. Promote corporate brands to customers. Promote trust and respect among associates. Provide a welcoming environment by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store. Maintain knowledge of products and make product suggestions. Assist with the preparation of produce platters/trays and inform customers of produce specials. Recommend items to customers to meet their needs. Adequately prepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise. Inspect product quality and freshness and take appropriate action. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager. Display a positive attitude and stay current with current promotions. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs. Reinforce safety programs by complying with procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and report equipment issues. Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity. Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary. Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications Ability to handle stressful situations. Effective communication skills. Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, subtraction). Current food handlers permit (once employed). Desired Experience Comparable retail experience. Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
