Who We Are Looking For Clearway Energy Group LLC’s Portfolio Finance team is seeking a summer intern, reporting to theSeniorDirector of Portfolio Finance.ThePortfolio Financeteamis responsible forleading the fundingand term conversionprocesswith tax equity investors, cash equity investors and lendersfor Clearway’s utility-scale wind, solar and battery energy storage projects. In addition, the Portfolio Finance team leads operating-period asset optimization transactions including refinancings, acquisitions of investor interests in our partnerships and other asset restructurings. Lastly, thePortfolio Financeteam managesseveraloperating projectreporting deliverables such as cash distributions and tracking models. This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning on June 1, 2026. We are looking for current juniors pursuing abachelor’sdegree inFinance, Business,Engineering,Math,Economics,Tax,Accountingor related field. Throughout this summer internship program,you’llget exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. What You'll Be Doing ThePortfolio FinanceIntern’sprimary responsibilitiesmayinclude: FinancialModel Optimization RefineMicrosoftExcel-based project finance“tracking models”,which are used to track equity investor returns, with new functionality that allows for streamlined updating of “actuals”,valuation of life to date andfuturecash flows, and implementation of“scenario analysis” tools. Modifications to cash distribution waterfall files, which allow Clearway to project distributions through the capital stack. Live Transaction Support The Portfolio Finance Intern will bea key member of a live “deal team” overseeing the upcoming funding process for one of Clearway’s utility-scale wind, solar orbattery energy storageprojects. The Portfolio Finance Intern will be tasked with creating and/or overseeing thetransactionchecklist of documentation deliverablesrequiredfor funding, bringdown financial model updates checklist, and other processes that help the deal team prepare for funding. Coordinate with internal teams, including Construction, Development, Accounting and Legal, to advance certain deliverablesrequiredfor funding. Support presentations and reports on transaction status, risks,and benefits to theLeadership Team. The Portfolio Finance Intern will be assigned to an individual project and will present results to the team and leadership at the end of the internship on August 4 th . What You'll Bring AdvancedMicrosoftExcel skillsand understanding of key financial concepts such asdiscounted cash flow analysis, time value of money, internal rate of return, and net present value. Ability to work well in a collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and working together to achieve company-wideand deal-specificobjectives. Intellectual curiosity and an interest in renewable energy. Strong interpersonal skills. You’re willing to ask lots of questions, listen to your colleagues, and contribute your ideas. What Would Be Nice Preferred Qualifications Project Finance modelingexperience(i.e.,discounted cash-flowanalysiswith multipleinvestors). Experience working in the poweror infrastructureindustry(ordemonstratedstrong interest). Background with VBA and an interest in sharpening those skills through working on real-world projects. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
