About UsAt Portage Lakes Nursing & Rehab , we are dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality care to our residents. We are currently seeking a qualified, hands-on Dietary Manager to lead our dietary team and ensure our residents receive nutritious, high-quality, and delicious meals every day.
Job SummaryAs the Dietary Manager , you will oversee all daily food service operations within our facility. This is a hands-on, "working" manager position that involves department supervision, menu planning, food purchasing, and regulatory compliance, as well as stepping in to assist or cover shifts within the dietary department as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily kitchen and food service operations to ensure compliance with health, safety, and nutritional regulations.
Direct menu planning, food purchasing, inventory control, and meal preparation.
Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise dietary department staff.
Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.
Serve as a hands-on leader, maintaining flexibility to cover dietary shifts (cooking, prep, service) when needed.
Ensure resident dietary needs and preferences are met in accordance with care plans.
Certifications:
Certified Dietary Manager ( CDM ) required.
ServSafe Certification required.
Certified Food Protection Professional ( CFPP ) preferred.
Experience: Proven supervisory experience in food service, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment.
Schedule: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekend and holiday rotations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
