Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

$2252.16/week –

Job Summary:
The Intermediate Care Unit Nurse provides specialized patient care for individuals requiring close monitoring and treatment but not intensive care. They collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with acute or complex conditions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on clinical data.

• Administer medications, including titrating drips like Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, and Heparin, following protocols.

• Interpret telemetry strips accurately and respond to arrhythmias or cardiac events promptly.

• Manage respiratory equipment, including high flow (AirVo) and BiPAP, ensuring optimal ventilator support.

• Collaborate with hospitalist and intensivist teams, providing updates and ensuring continuous patient monitoring.

• Assist with patient transitions, manage radial bands post-procedure, and perform groin and sheath care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.

• Demonstrate ability to interpret telemetry strips and titrate IV drips effectively.

• Possess experience with ventilator management and respiratory equipment.

• Be flexible to work rotating weekends, holidays, as required.

• Show capacity to float between Telemetry and MedSurg units up to ratios of 1:6 or 1:7 in MedSurg.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including scrubs in navy blue and adherence to safety protocols.
