Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cardiac and stepdown nursing care in a 33-bed stepdown unit
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changing patient conditions using telemetry and evidence-based practices
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, with attention to cardiac protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support smooth transitions
• Prioritize and manage a 1:4 patient ratio while maintaining clear documentation and continuity of care
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (Oklahoma RN licensure required or eligible)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Previous experience in cardiac care, CVCU, or stepdown settings preferred
• Comfortable managing telemetry patients and working a 1:4 ratio on 12-hour day shifts
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork orientation

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Familiarity with stepdown/CVCU protocols and cardiac medications
• Skilled in patient assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking
• Clear, thorough documentation and electronic medical record experience
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient/family education
