About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid State License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Fire Card Must-Have: Strong neuro experience is required. Experience with cardiovascular, multi-trauma, gunshot wounds, stroke, and STEMI center cases is necessary. Experience with motor vehicle accidents and ortho cases is required. Experience in a Level 2 Trauma Center is necessary. Travel experience is required. Description: The unit is a high-acuity neuro population, STEMI receiving center. It manages complex cases including CABG, valve surgery, IABP, CRRT, sepsis, and surgical cases. The nurse will care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions. Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, central line care, and ventilator management. Experience in managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction or failure is essential. Candidates should be proficient in IV sedation, administration of emergency medications, and titration of cardiac drips. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias is required. Experience with post-cardiac surgery management is preferred. Float requirements include potential shifts in overflow units. Participants will be part of an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Key procedures include intubation assistance and chest tube management in stable patients. Essential skills include starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, and managing high-flow nasal cannula. The facility supports a friendly, fast-paced environment focused on team collaboration. Travelers may be required to float within the designated state as needed.
