Our goal is to provide reliable products and sustainable solutions for innovative global infrastructure.POSITION SUMMARYThe Heavy Equipment Welder performs specialized metal fabrication and welding required to maintain, modify and repair the districts rolling stock, facilities and passenger amenities and miscellaneous equipment. This position is a safety sensitive position that works primarily on used equipment to perform maintenance and repair. This is an hourly position that reports directly to Area Shop Foreman.PRIMARY DUTIESService and maintain field machinery, including removing, cleaning, checking and replacing parts/componentsReads, interprets, and follows blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and productsOperates calipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand toolsFabricate metal machine parts (bend, cut, drill, tap, etc.)Metal identification, test equipment operation, blueprint analysis and equipment assemblyPerforms quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standardsReworks and/or repairs welded parts and products according to engineering specificationAdheres to the safety and health rules and safe working practices applicableBuild machinery following drafts/blueprintsWeldingPerform other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSHigh School Diploma or GED1+ years of welding/shop experienceExperience in the use of electrical tools, equipment, and the measurements necessary to meet established standardsOperate all types of welding equipmentRead, understand, follow and/or apply technical oral and written instructions, blueprintsUtilize all required PPECommunicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writingRegular and reliable attendance and performance are requiredKnowledge of occupational health and safety rules and working practicesTechnical CapacityThoroughnessEstablish and maintain cooperative and productive working relationshipsTime ManagementProblem solving/analysisFisher Industries is an Equal Opportunity Employer.We are a drug-free work environment requiring pre-employment and random drug testing.
