FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Job Title

The duties of this position include:

Assisting the Comptroller by taking on accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.

Reviewing and approving accounting transactions and financial reports to ensure accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with regulations.

Developing, implementing, and providing training on standard operating procedures for accounting tasks within Navy ERP.

Processing complex financial transactions, including obligations, expenditures, collections, and budgetary adjustments.

Analyzing financial data and execution variances to identify trends, resolve issues, and provide recommendations to leadership.

Assisting in the preparation of official financial statements and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.

Serving as a primary point of contact for audit-related inquiries.

Ensuring all accounting activities comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal regulations.

Maintaining liaison with appropriate staff at various commands and financial service centers to coordinate and resolve complex accounting issues.
