Mainframe Systems ProgrammerLocation: Onsite in Portland, OR (Local or Neighboring State Candidates)Position Overview: Responsible for supporting a mainframe critical to customer service and work management, with involvement in a transformation project to migrate away from the current platform.Key Responsibilities:Perform day-to-day mainframe operations, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.Capture screens and documentation for audits; validate technical direction from vendorsInteract with auditors and support audit requirements.Apply software upgrades and manage mainframe licenses.Question and validate vendor recommendations analytically, without confrontation.Technical Requirements:Strong experience with ZOS.Familiarity with Cool: Gen, Endeavor (CA Endevor SCM) and RACF.Advanced troubleshooting skills.Prior mainframe experience required; utility industry experience is optional.No specific programming language required if candidate is a senior mainframe systems.Dell DLM (Disk Library for Mainframe) experience needed.Other Details: Hands-on technical role, not a people manager.
