Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a 16-week travel assignment in a busy Recovery Unit (PACU) on the 3rd Floor of an acute care hospital in Cumming, Georgia. This role is ideal for a highly skilled RN who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to providing exceptional post-anesthesia care.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the immediate post-operative care of patients recovering from various surgical procedures. This includes vigilant monitoring of vital signs, comprehensive pain management, and ensuring patient stability and comfort during the critical recovery phase. This is a travel assignment, and candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the facility will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care, including continuous monitoring of vital signs, neurological status, and airway patency.
• Perform thorough patient assessments to identify and manage post-operative complications.
• Administer medications, including analgesics, antiemetics, and other prescribed drugs, ensuring accurate dosage and timing.
• Manage pain effectively through various modalities and patient education.
• Monitor and manage surgical drains, dressings, and intravenous lines.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care instructions and potential complications.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, acute care experience in a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Recovery Unit.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to commit to a 16-week travel assignment.
