Construction Inspector

This role monitors and inspects construction across a wide range of public and private projects including roads, bridges, rail, aviation, paving, utilities, sidewalks, and site developments. Job Duties Observe, oversee, and inspect construction work, preparing daily inspection reports. Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, permits, and environmental restrictions. Review coordinated job plans and report deviations to client, subcontractor, or supervisor. Demonstrate knowledge of construction techniques, design, and MDOT specifications. Apply standard A/E industry operations, policies, and procedures. Work independently with strong interpersonal skills. Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience HS diploma (or GED) and a minimum of 5 years of construction/inspection experience on civil‑related projects (preferred). Physical demands: frequent walking on uneven ground, standing, stooping throughout each day. Outdoors exposure and work in high‑traffic areas. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexible work schedule and ability to meet project deadlines. Valid driver’s license.
