Truck Driver

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. is seeking a Truck Driver to join our team at our headquarters in Newark, New Jersey. The Driver is responsible for operating non-CDL company vehicles, assisting with warehouse operations, and maintaining accurate inventory handling. This role requires a dependable, organized, and safety-focused individual who takes pride in their work and represents the company professionally at all times while working closely with warehouse staff, project teams, and management to ensure smooth daily operations and uninterrupted project progress.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operating and maneuvering a 16-foot rack truck in urban environments and tight, active construction zones (No CDL required).
• Picking up material orders from local vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely and efficient collection.
• Checking and verifying all vendor orders against our physical paperwork and purchase orders to ensure accuracy before loading.
• Delivering material orders directly to active jobsites, navigating sites safely, and positioning the truck carefully for unloading.
• Verifying that the correct materials and exact quantities are handed off to each jobsite, cross-checking manifests with job site foreman/supervisors to guarantee zero delivery errors.
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of pipes, equipment, and fittings.
• Securing loads tightly and safely using straps, chains, or ropes before hitting the road.
• Performing daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, straps, lights) and reporting any maintenance needs.
• Maintaining a professional, respectful attitude while communicating clearly and representing Haddad at jobsites and supplier locations.

What We Are Looking For:

• Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and understand English to safely read road signs, interpret manifest paperwork, and communicate effectively with job site managers, suppliers, and dispatch.
• Driving Experience: Minimum 12 years of experience safely driving commercial box trucks, rack trucks, or large commercial delivery vehicles.
• Licensing: Valid New Jersey Driver's License with a clean driving record (No major infractions or recent DUIs). Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card) is required or must be obtained upon hire.
• Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds while loading/unloading materials.
• Skill Set: Proficient with GPS routing tools, highly reliable with a strict 6:00 AM start time, detail-oriented with order paperwork, and skilled at safely securing heavy commercial cargo.

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 / hour + Opportunity for Overtime Weekly

• After 40 Hours Overtime Rate: $30.00 - $33.00 / hour (Paid for all hours worked over 40)
• Potential to Earn: $1,220.00 $1,342.00 Gross Per Week

• Second Payout ($250 at 90 Days): Awarded for maintaining an incident-free driving record and demonstrating safe, secure material loading and strapping techniques.
