Licensing and Eligibility Current College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (CPSBC) licence, Full Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), Mandatory Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC). Division Overview The Division of Geriatric Medicine consists of a team of 11 Geriatricians and 5 Care of the Elderly physicians serving a population of 750,000 across Vancouver Island. In Victoria, the Patient Care Centre is a state‑of‑the‑art facility with an elder‑friendly design to meet the unique needs of seniors. Clinical Responsibilities The Geriatric service provides clinical support to a robust service including inpatient and outpatient consultation. Physicians undergo rotation through all aspects of specialized geriatric services and work with dedicated interdisciplinary teams in most areas. There are no “on‑call” duties, with attractive remuneration under a clinical service contract. Teaching and Academic Affiliation The Division of Geriatrics is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Island Medical Program and supports clinical teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
