How you'll contribute A Phlebotomist who excels in this role: Perform venipunctures and skin punctures on hospital patients. Assist in reviewing lab results and alert Charge Nurse, Nurse Supervisor or Director of Nursing as needed. Collect blood specimens, including blood cultures. Additional requirements include: Formal Phlebotomy training as required by state. Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy certification preferred and valid state Clinical Lab Scientist certification as required by state. Six (6) months acute phlebotomy experience or one (1) year experience as a medical assistant performing venipuncture or one (1) year outpatient lab experience preferred.
