Job Title Surgical Technician / Operating Room (OR) Tech – Part‑time, Day Shift at St.Mary Medical Center, Trinity Health. Job Overview The Surgical Technician/OR Tech assists in providing safe, quality health care services and assistance to patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or other designated health‑care professional. The role requires participation in direct one‑to‑one patient observation, therapeutic communication, and detailed record keeping as part of the surgical services team. Responsibilities Participate in direct patient observation to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Engage in therapeutic communication and assist nurses and designated health‑care professionals in maintaining clear communication among the care team. Maintain detailed records and coordinate communication between patients, families, and the care team. Serve as a resource, role model, or mentor when appropriate. Qualifications High school diploma or GED (currently enrolled in high school is acceptable). Specialty license, certification, training, or experience according to assignment area in the applicable state(s). Certification required; additional in‑house certifications or role‑specific licensing may be required. Proficiency in therapeutic communication and patient observation techniques.
