The Department of Family & Community Services is recruiting for a Talent Acquisition Specialist (Human Resource Consultant 1) in Anchorage! This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify. What You Will Be Doing: As part of the Talent Acquisition (TA) team, you will manage and coordinate recruitment advertising for the Department of Family and Community Services positions. Responsibilities include overseeing recruitment postings on Workplace Alaska, developing standardized interview questions, participating in interview panels, making hiring recommendations and decisions in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws. In this role, you will streamline recruitment processes, enhance candidate experiences, and cultivate a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects our core values. You will be able to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees, and represent the department at job fairs, open houses, and other recruitment events. Competency Based Minimum Qualifications Instructions This job class uses competency based minimum qualifications. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Training in human resource management, business administration, or organizational leadership or experience supporting management in running an organization/enterprise or supporting professionals working in human resources (such as recruitment, payroll, classification and compensation, employee and labor-management relations, employer provided benefit programs, employment law compliance, or employee training). “Competencies” means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. “Training” and “education” in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.
