Description: The Registered Dietitian is responsible for developing and implementing the nutrition services program. The role involves close collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). The Registered Dietitian delivers nutrition services such as assessments and counseling to participants. This position acts as a liaison between nutrition services and food and supplement providers. The Registered Dietitian develops menus and ensures compliance with all regulations related to meal service delivery. Essential duties include conducting nutrition assessments to determine participant needs, preferences, and goals. Participation in IDT meetings to develop participant care plans is required. Direct care nutrition interventions are carried out according to physician orders and care plans. The Registered Dietitian monitors special diets, meal intake, and provides nutrition counseling to participants and families. The Registered Dietitian oversees menu planning and meal delivery to meet safety and regulatory requirements. Coordination of supplements as ordered is part of the role. Staff training on the meal delivery program is provided as needed. Collaboration with physicians and IDT members is necessary to support care transitions between settings. The Registered Dietitian supports the intake and enrollment process to ensure timely movement through enrollment. It is important to remain alert to input from team members, participants, and caregivers regarding changes in conditions. All required documentation must be completed accurately and on time. Maintaining privacy and confidentiality of all procedures and information is crucial. Compliance with policies and participation in quality improvement activities and training sessions is expected. Regular communication with the supervisor and team regarding workload and priorities is necessary. Flexibility in performing assignments is required as business needs evolve. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
