Field Equipment Technician

Benefits Company van (parked at home each day) Company fuel card and cell phone Paid time off Paid holidays Outstanding benefits package provided by the local union Competitive wages Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment Diagnose and repair all forms of customer equipment Complete each repair job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner Provide exceptional customer service Work and manage workloads independently Properly complete and submit all required paperwork Maintain the company vehicle and onboard parts inventory Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principles into daily activities Perform other duties as assigned Maintain consistent, regular, and reliable attendance, including being ready for work at the designated start time Qualifications Two years of forklift repair experience, including military, guard, or reserve experience with MOS or NEC codes 63B, 63H, 63S, 63W, 63Y, 91B, 91H, 91L, 91M, or CM Previous field experience preferred Strong working knowledge of electric and liquid propane units Excellent mechanical aptitude Own tools Clean driving record and valid driver's license to operate company vehicle Computer programs – HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, and Yale/Hyster contact management system Intermediate language skills: reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; writing routine reports and correspondence; speaking effectively before customers or employees Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide with tens and hundreds; handle units of money, weight, volume, and distance Intermediate reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Physical Demands / Work Environment Stand, walk, use hands, reach; talk; occasionally sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl No special vision requirements Lift up to 10 pounds regularly; 11–25 pounds frequently; 26–100+ pounds occasionally Work near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather; occasionally wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat; risk of electrical shock, vibration Compensation: $28.00 to $43.00 per hour (base pay only, benefits and potential bonuses not included).
