Position Title: Behavioral Health Technician Location: 2175 California Street, Denver, Colorado 80205. Job Overview Provides de‑escalation and environmental safety support for recuperative care patients. Works with safety director, senior director of behavioral health services, director of recuperative care, nurse manager and others. The BHT will monitor floor milieu and be the first line of response to escalated patients. Supports integrated plan of care and mental health groups and activities. Essential Job Functions Assist with intakes, discharges, and familiarize new patients to the program. Implement delegated aspects of patient treatment plans and participate in therapeutic environment under direction of behavioral health, safety, and integrated clinical teams. Foster substance use challenges and recovery in harm‑reduction and trauma‑informed way. Assist residents with physical assistance partnered with the integrated care team very rarely. Help plan and implement groups focused on optimal mental health including topics such as well‑being, motivational interviewing, distress tolerance, and coping skills. Handle urgent/emergent situations quickly in a trauma‑informed manner with careful consideration of policies, procedures, mission, and philosophy of service. Make floor, building, and perimeter inspections to ensure a secure and safe environment and to address client needs. Participate in recreational, engagement, and occupational activities with patients. Attend required meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Active certification in basic life support (CPR/BLS) required. Interest in harm reduction, behavioral health environments, or supporting vulnerable populations required. High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred. Prior experience or certification as a Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred. Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred. Additional Requirements Valid driver’s license required. May be waived if experience meets needs. Credentialing & Privileging Candidate must complete internal credentialing and privileging process prior to start date. Start date scheduled after credentialing completion.
