Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Float Pool)

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Float between Med/Surg Telemetry and IMC units as part of a float pool assignment, in rotation with facility staff and in accordance with facility floating policies
• Provide direct patient care at ratios of 1:4–1:6 depending on unit assignment
• Manage and monitor patients presenting with conditions including acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends per facility scheduling requirements
• Complete required onboarding modules (averaging 4–8 hours) through the Relias/Net Learning portal during orientation and annually

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Recent Epic EMR experience required — must be documented at time of submission
• Minimum 2+ years of Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) experience in a hospital setting
• Minimum 2+ years of IMC unit experience in a hospital setting — must be documented at time of submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Flu shot and 2-step PPD required — no exceptions
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; locals are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing high-acuity patients including septic shock, myocardial infarction, and unstable angina
• Comfort with floating across multiple unit types and adapting quickly to varying patient populations
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards related to float pool and unit orientation practices
