Inventory Specialist

Overview DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking an Inventory Specialist to support emergency response operations at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will support the readiness, tracking, issuance, and maintenance of deployment equipment and supplies to ensure resources are available when needed for emergency response activities. The Inventory Specialist will also help maintain accurate inventory records, equipment readiness, and established inventory controls. This is a 100% in-person position and requires on-site support at CDC facilities. Duties & Responsibilities Fulfill deployment equipment requests in support of emergency response operations. Perform function checks to ensure equipment readiness, issue equipment and receive returned equipment, ensuring proper documentation is maintained. Ensure readiness of deployer communication equipment and assist deployers with operations to include some limited trouble shooting. Ensure the proper levels of inventory are maintained in storage. Support inventory protocols to ensure quantity and valuation accuracy of DEO inventory. Assist with review of expiry dates of all medical equipment and supplies. Adhere to controls for the ordering, receiving, and disbursing of inventory. Provide assistance for dissemination of inventory to state and local regions, as needed. Qualifications Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Logistical supply room/inventory management experience required. Emergency management resource support/logistical experience preferred. This is a 100% in person position. Telework will not be authorized. Expertise in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook Mail). Ability to effectively communicate needs at all briefings to assist with operational strategy. Ability to identify gaps in existing resources. Ability to multitask in emergency situations. Ability to be flexible with a strong sense of urgency. Interpersonal communication: telephone, email, and business etiquette. Strong proofreading skill and attention to detail. Strong organizational skills.
