Bring your passion for helping students succeed to a rewarding K–12 setting! This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated Occupational Therapist eager to make an impact in schools across a welcoming Florida community.
The position involves providing school-based OT services to students ranging from kindergarten through high school. You'll support multiple school sites throughout Hendry County, with assignments determined over the summer—meaning flexibility and adaptability are key. Your commitment to traveling between locations will help ensure consistent, high-quality care for students who need it most.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Current, active Occupational Therapy license in Florida
- Previous experience in a school-based environment is preferred
- Confidence working with K–12 populations, adapting strategies for various age groups
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities for seamless collaboration with educators, families, and support staff
- Strong organizational skills, especially when balancing a multi-site caseload
- Flexibility to travel between school campuses throughout the academic year
In this vital role, you will:
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students with diverse needs
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized intervention strategies
- Document student progress in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop IEPs and recommendations
- Offer staff training and family support to optimize student participation and success
