Branch Manager II

Branch Manager II – Portland, OR Location: Portland, OR – NE Columbia – Retail shop. Schedule: Monday – Friday, daytime hours. Responsibilities Oversee daily store operations to achieve sales and margin goals. Promote sales, deliver customer service, nurture inventory levels, balance expenses. Enforce safety and regulatory standards, maintain good housekeeping, and enhance operational efficiency. Provide professional customer service for internal and external customers and address product, pricing, and technical inquiries. Support outside-sales team in nurturing client relationships and welcoming new business opportunities. Ensure accurate daily processing of financial transactions: cash reports, charge tickets, coding, costing, pricing, daily cash summaries, bank deposits. Maintain accuracy of back‑order, open‑order, and purchase‑order expedite reports. Manage and refine cylinder and hard‑goods inventory levels for the branch. Lead training for inside‑sales associates on product knowledge, company policies, processes, procedures, and safety. Conduct periodic performance reviews for branch associates. Act as a bridge between employees and management, offering mentorship and guidance with HR and senior management. Qualifications 2+ years of management experience in a customer‑facing environment. Experience leading teams within retail or industrial distribution. Physical ability to lift up to 75lbs and occasionally 125lbs with equipment. Proficient computer skills and willingness to learn new digital tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently. Self‑motivated with strong focus on team success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Track record in the welding, gas, or safety industry. 3+ years of experience focused on team growth and operational efficiency. 5+ years of sales experience with measurable results.
